Hmmm. Jaslene won this cycle of ANTM.
While I'm happy that two women whose families didn't start out in the US, I must say that I was really hoping that Natasha would win. That'll teach all of those catty women who look down on the "foreign" women. There's no doubt in my mind that my favourite will get a contract as well...

Oh yeah, I was hoping for Natasha as well. But ah well. I'm sure Jaslene deserved it! :-)
Lola, how is this? I'm pretty confused. Earlier you wrote about the bad influence of TV and advertisments on western societies, and now you post about a stupid TV show that must be full of advertisement (I guess the only reason to make such a TV show is to advertise... products and lifestyle). The show is about stupid half-pound weighted girls, who are unnatural and who never live our kind of life. Is it really interesting for you, or I just missed the irony out of your sentences? Please tell me if I am wrong, or I misunderstand something, but it seems this show is ridiculous, like the one here in Hungary.
Viktor. Thanks for the scathing review. Yes, I have posted that. However, I also only watch about two or three hours a week of telly.
For your information, while I hate the reality aspect, I am also a keen observer of anything photographic. Mainly, I watch to see what's happening in the photography field and see whether it inspires me creatively. I also watch to see if my perception of what makes a good model is what the rest of the industry thinks.
Sure it's pretty brainless and about skinny girls but really, we all buy into some idea of what is beautiful, don't we. I don't find these really skinny girls that attractive but I can also see that a young guy wouldn't take a second look at me if I was in a room full of models. I'm neither skinny or beautiful to the masses and I see every day what kind of advantageous treatment the thin, seemingly brainless women of the world get that I don't. Sure, there's that "oh, but you have a great personality" but I don't see any guy knocking at my door because of my personality.
However, that said, I was happy to see the issue of inclusion of people that aren't born somewhere actually be accepted. The winner was Latina and the second place was originally from Russia. So, there really is some hope in the world. Sure, it's reality tv but it also gives me an opportunity to shut my brain off from all of the "issues" that seem to clog my head all of the time.
Nice to hear from you Viktor. I've printed off your last post and will email you about it later. I really wish that you were on Blogger because the site you have now is hard to read because your text writing is wider than my screen can read.
Have a great day.
Oh, and thanks Robert for dropping by.
Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think that I should be one of those girls because they seem to have all of the fun.
Lola, you are right. I understand you, and I have to admit, that I didn't think about how educative this program can be for a photographer. For example I also watch political debates, although I hate the current Hungarian politics. I only watch it, because my profession (and hobby) is communication, and I can learn by watching these programs. It can be similar to you watching Top Model.
I guess the only person who doesn't even think about how you look like, just loves you, is your child. But for a child, you usually need to be in a relationship. (Have I told you, that for a long time my dream was to become a teacher for pre-school children?)
